About Dr. M.

Dr. Maerlender is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist who is on the faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After 20 years at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as Director of Pediatric Neuropsychology, he left to start the clinical research program in Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior (CB3) located in Memorial Stadium at UNL. As Director of Clinical Research and Associate Center Director, he developed research programs for studying concussions in elite athletes. Dr. Maerlender currently serves on the Medical and Safety committee of the National College Rugby organization (https://ncr.rugby/) and the Bridge UP at Menninger (Houston) task force. He has served on numerous regional and national boards and committees including the Institute of Medicine Committee on Concussions in Youth Sports, The Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialist (ACBIS) of the Brain Injury Association of America, and was a founding member of the B1G10-Ivy League TBI Research Collaboration for whom he serves as the Emeritus Research Director.
